As well as our Sunday services and small groups, we have plans for lots of
other iniitatives this year. Here are a few of the things we are involved
in:
- Alpha: this is a video and discussion course that runs for 10
weeks designed for anyone who wants to find out more about the basics of
Christianity.
- Jesus Video Project: this is a national initiative that distributes
a free movie about the life of Jesus (based on Luke's gospel) to every home
in the country.
- Bethany Children's
Trust: is a charity supporting AIDs orphans and children at risk
in countries overseas. The church supports the charity by providing an office
free of charge and with a "pound offering" collection every Sunday.
- Christ Church New Zealand: Our former pastor Bob Cheesman
and others from the Community Church have left to start a church plant in
New Zealand. The Community Church supports Bob and receives regular updates
about the work.
- Monthly Prayer Meetings: The whole church is encouraged to meet
for prayer on the last Thursday in the month at 8pm.
- The Community Church on tour: the Community Church holds occasional
special services in other venues in SW London, to reach out to people who
live locally.
